Garve Public Hall

Following an open tender process Alan Jones Associates were appointed to carry out an options appraisal, Feasibility Study and Business Plan for investment in community assets for Garve, a small rural village in Wester Ross.

In late 2018, the Garve and District Development Company issued information to 174 properties in the area, 162 of which are now known to be occupied. Along with this information (primarily inviting people to participate in digital training) a small Household Survey was included, to which 45 responses were received.

The trustees of the Garve Public Hall held an open meeting on Wednesday 21st March 2019. All residents within the Garve and District area were invited following a hand delivered mail shot to addresses within the district. In addition, the event was publicised on the digital community hub www.garve.org.

Following consultation with the trustees, concept designs were displayed as well as other documents and texts relating to the historical institution of the hall and its past use. Attendees were invited to take part in a survey which looked at key ideas put forward by the trustees for a Hall of the future.
