Ardersier War Memorial Hall – Phase 1
Following the completion of a successful Options Appraisal and Business Plan Alan Jones Associates secured funding of £284,000 for the phase 1 restoration of the 1923 Ardersier War Memorial Hall in Ardersier.
The Business Plan included gathering evidence of need for the redevelopment, all market testing of potential user groups, creating a pricing policy, notional timetabling of uses, assessing competitor analysis, creating 5 -year revenue budget projections, completing a comprehensive Business Risk Register and an Exit Strategy. They also suggested improved governance arrangements for the future management and operation of the Hall. Alan was responsible for developing the Business Plan and all associated Due Diligence including project management through procurement. Alan Jones Associates also had to complete all funding applications securing all funding for this from Highland LEADER (£150,000), Biffa Awards (£50,000) and the Climate Challenge Fund for double glazing, insulation and draught proofing (£84,000).
As shown in the photos, the successful capital funding application allowed for a comprehensive refurbishment of the main hall, including floors, windows and electrics, as well as a new build “wrap around” to increase the size of the facility and provide much needed improved ancillary facilities.
