North Kessock Ticket Office & Seaside Garden
Alan Jones Associates completed the business plan for North Kessock Ticket Office Project, which involved negotiations with The Crown Estate (sea bed) and Highland Council as owners of the old ticket office and public toilets at the pier in North Kessock. Initially, Highland Council had requested £20,000 purchase for the building, but Alan Jones Associates successfully negotiated a community asset transfer for £1.
On behalf of the client we secured £105,000 to refurbish the old ticket office followed by a further £50,000 to construct a Community Coastal Garden.
The capital project is now complete, and the building has opened as a community facility and heritage space. As the images below show, we were able to work with the contractor in order to manage a high-quality refurbishment, within budget, on time and in line with a number of key funder’s grant aid requirements.
